Structured data (usually JSON-LD) tells Google the price, currency and availability of a product in a machine-readable way. When it disagrees with the visible page or your feed, it creates mismatches that are hard to see.
The fields that matter most
offers.priceandoffers.priceCurrency— must match the price and currency shown to shoppers.offers.availability— for example InStock or OutOfStock, matching the page.name,image,sku/gtinwhere available.
Common problems
- Two different Product blocks on the same page (one from the theme, one from an SEO app) with different prices.
- A price of 0 or an empty price.
- The wrong currency after you changed your store’s currency.
- Markup for the default variant on every variant URL.
How to fix
- View the page source and search for
"@type": "Product"to see every block. - Keep one source of markup (theme or app) and disable the other.
- Test a few product URLs with Google’s Rich Results Test.
Frequently asked questions
Is structured data required for Merchant Center?
Your feed is the main source, but Google can use page markup to check and update product information, so it should always be accurate.
