  • Don’t use the Service to harm, overload or attack anyone’s website.
  • Don’t try to get around our limits or security controls.

Authorised scanning

Submit only websites you own, operate, or have written permission to audit (for example as their agency). Do not use the Service to monitor competitors without permission or to gather personal data about individuals.

Prohibited activities

  • Attempting to scan private networks, internal services, or infrastructure you do not control.
  • Using the Service to overload, disrupt or test the security of any website.
  • Circumventing scan budgets, rate limits, authentication, or our robots.txt compliance.
  • Uploading malicious files, or content you have no right to share.
  • Reselling, sublicensing or white-labelling the Service without a written agreement.
  • Using reports to make false statements to Google or anyone else.

Honest remediation

Our templates contain placeholders for facts only you can confirm. Never use them to describe changes you have not made, and never publish false business details, addresses or reviews.

Enforcement

We may suspend scans or accounts that breach this policy and may report illegal activity. Website owners can report misuse of our scanner to support@merchantlion.com.
